The Ukrainian Festival Orchestra

The Ukrainian Festival Orchestra (UFO) was founded on the basis of ‘Collegium Musicum’ chamber orchestra, which was set up in 2014 by conductor Ivan Ostapovych and culture manager Taras Demko.

The repertoire of the Orchestra includes pieces from the baroque to the present. However, the fundamental aim of the UFO is to make high-quality recordings of Ukrainian classical music and popularize it all around the world. “It is ‘the celebration of Ukrainian music’, the festival that lasts forever,” says conductor Ivan Ostapovych about the Orchestra. The UFO is collaborating with such classical music stars as violinists Noah Bendix-Balgley, Corey Cerovsek, Vadym Kholodenko, Andrei Gavrilov, Antonii Baryshevskyi, Sergei Ostrovsky, Jacob Shaw, Lev Markiz, Sigiswald Kuijken, Theodore Kuchar etc.

Taras Demko is the Orchestra director. Theodore Kuchar is the main guest conductor. Ivan Ostapovych is the conductor and artistic director.
