Chamber Choir "Sophia"

Chamber Choir "Sophia" was organized in 2008 Kiev young conductor Ivan Bogdanov. Ensemble "Sophia" sang motets and madrigals Lasso, Monteverdi and other composers of the Renaissance, were in different cities of Ukraine and theatrical performances. Gradually expanded the repertoire were performed N.Leontovicha Liturgy on Easter Assembly of 2009 were the first in Ukraine fulfilled part of liturgies Serbian composers.
Since the end of 2010, the managemen t team carries out Alexey Shamritsky, at that time a student 5 of the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. Tchaikovsky. In November 2010, two cantatas were performed Sviridov ( "Songs of timelessness", "Night Clouds"), a series of treatments of Ukrainian folk songs. In September 2011, "Sophia" choir recorded its premiere CD "Liturgy", which includes famous works of Russian composers Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Arkhangelsky, Chesnokov, Schnittke and others. Since 2012 the choir "Sophia" permanent participant of festivals, assemblies, such as "KIEVMYUZIK fest", “Season premiere" Easter Assembly, and others.In May 2017, the choir "Sofia" successfully participated in the Harmony Festival Lindenholzhausen (Limburg, Germany) - First place in the category "Spiritual Music", Gold certificate in the category of contemporary music, Diploma of the best conductor. In July 2017 the choir "Sofia" became the owner of the Grand Prix at the 56th International Choir Competition "Seghizzi" in Italy (Gorizia) In November 2017, the choir participated in the International Choir Competition in Spain (Tolosa).
In May 2018, the chamber chorus "Sofia" became the winner (the First Prize) at the XXXVII International Festival of Orthodox Church Music "Hajnowka-2018".
